PARADISE ALLEY

About 4 minutes into “Paradise Alley”, I threw my head back and said “Oh, my God!”  That was about 2 minutes into the first song of the movie that Sylvester Stallone sings VERY badly!  How Bill Conti ever let Sly sing the tune, is beyond me.  And to be honest, things didn’t get much better from there. 

The story centres on the Carboni family.  Cosmo is the yapper, Vick is the wrestler and Lenny is the businessman.  Vick isn’t the sharpest knife in the drawer, so Cosmo and Lenny use him and his talent as a way out of the rundown NYC neighbourhood they live in.  This was Stallone’s first directing job.  And it shows. 

Not a very good movie.
